Google has brought the first Beta build for the latest version of the Android mobile operating system. The Android Q Beta 1 comes with a whole host of upgrades and new features.
The latest iteration of Google’s mobile operating system is here, and it is called the Android Q. The Android Q (version 10) will be replacing the Android Pie which launched last year. The first beta build of Android Q has been released specifically for the Google Pixel users, as usual with any other Android OS version. The Android Q is expected to be released for all the Android based devices sometime in the third quarter of the current year.
The Android Q Beta 1 offers a handful of important upgrades over the Android Pie. One of these new upgrades is more precise permissions for giving location access to applications. Google is also offering enhanced experience for foldable phones with the Android Q.
It is good to mention here that like all beta updates, the Android Q Beta 1 is just meant for testing purposes. Google will be releasing the next beta builds of the Android Q soon, while the 5th and 6th Beta builds of the new mobile operating platform will come only in the third quarter of 2018, following which the final version will be Android Q will be publicly launched.
Android 10 Q is also going to enhance Wi-Fi connectivity along with offering more focused user privacy via a re-factored Wi-Fi stack. The platform also offers Wi-Fi standard support, WPA3 and Enhanced Open in order to offer better security. Moreover, improvements are made for various other things like managing IoT devices, suggesting Internet connections without location access permission and more.
Google has also concentrated more on privacy and security upgrades on the Android Q, while the platform also offers enhanced usage for foldable devices. The latest Android version allows multi-resume and notify apps. App developers can manage how their apps will be displayed on a foldable and big screen. Google is also updating the Android Emulator to allow multiple display switching. To make sharing a smoother experience on Android, Google is also offering Sharing Shortcuts o Android Q. The new feature will let users to simply go to another app to share contents from one app.
There will be tons of more updates and improvements on the new Android Q. Nevertheless, we still don’t know what the Android Q will be officially called. Given Google’s love for sweet treats when it comes to naming the Android versions, the Android Q will also get a delicious formal name.
